More than 300 jobs at the Scottsdale sawmill Auspine could be in jeopardy unless a future resource allocation is agreed with softwood timber manager Rayonier.
A recent meeting between the two companies failed to reach a satisfactory conclusion, causing concern to Auspine which operates two sawmills in the area.
However, Rayonier regional manager Mike Claridge described the negotiations as “fruitful” and said a further meeting would be arranged.
