About 2,000 Norbord Sterling Roofdek panels have been installed at top music venue the Wembley Arena.
Imperial Roofing sourced the 8,000m2 of OSB3 boards from the Braintree branch of Travis Perkins as part of the arena’s £25m redevelopment.
Jonathan Forbes-Brown, Imperial Roofing’s owner, said he chose Roofdek for performance and environmental reasons.
Mr Forbes-Brown said Roofdek was particularly suitable for the large 22.5 degree pitched roof of the 1930s building, due to the wood-wool slab roofing structure. The OSB’s tongue-and-grooved edges provided the support needed, as the boards could only be fixed to the slabs’ frames.
Imperial Waterproofing is finishing the roof with a Firestone single-ply membrane.
