Indian wood products company Shirdi Industries Ltd is investing US$18.7m setting up an MDF and particleboard factory in Uttaranchal.

The facility, scheduled for completion during the first quarter of 2007, will feature an MDF capacity of 4.8 million m2 and a particleboard capacity of 5 million m2.

Pre-laminated MDF and particleboard production capacity will represent 1 million m2 and 2.4 million m2 respectively.

Shirdi will also spend US$6m creating new capacities in pre-laminated boards, flooring, door skins, laminates, doors and furniture components.
