Acimall, the Italian woodworking machinery and tool manufacturers association, is to open its second training centre in the world.
Machines supplied by Italian companies have already been delivered to the new Russian training institute in Novosibirsk, Siberia, giving students the chance to attend a basic training course using updated technology.
A second shipment of machinery will be delivered by the end of the year.
The facility will be officially opened on April 5 when Italian engineers whose companies have supplied machinery will be able to demonstrate the equipment.
Companies taking part in the project are Incomac, Griggio, Simimpianti, SCM Group, Costa Levigatrici and TVM Termoventilmec.
Acimall opened its first training school in Bangalore, India in May 2003.
