Speakers from across the world will discuss the contribution of forests to the goals of Kyoto and Montreal, and in particular wood’s capacity to absorb carbon dioxide and reduce emissions.

Other topics will include the increasing use of wood in a wider range of applications, sustainable development, rational use of forest resources and the role of wood for construction and design.

The May 19 conference, organised by Xylexpo and the Italian committee for forests, wood and paper, is supported by a host of organisations, including the Italian government, ACIMALL (Italian woodworking machinery and tools manufacturers’ association) and the Italian Forest Association.
