Lloyds Timber Frame reported steady traffic to its stand and included architects among its visitors. “We’re trying to get architects to change their minds about timber,” said sales manager Jim Coleman, “and it’s happening.”

Lloyds, which has an in-house design department, manufactures timber frame houses at its Oswestry-based factory and can also provide an erection service. Its houses are fully compliant with Part E and are energy efficient. A recent 2.5-storey dwelling in Chirk was constructed using 300mm insulated wall panel sections which will provide a U-value of under 0.15/m2K.
