A Compact saw was bought for the university’s woodworking shop, which makes models using plywood, MDF and other wood-based materials for civil engineering students. Typical models are boats, buildings and bridges.

The space saved by the Compact 4164, which replaced a table saw, has allowed an additional teaching laboratory to be created.

The Compact features a maximum cutting size of 3100x1644mm and cutting depth of 60mm

University wood technicians also use the machine to produce models for outside companies and organisations.
