Businesses represented at the show included timber window manfuacturers, flooring and decking suppliers and timber building specialists.

German bespoke post and beam house producer Huf Haus, whose house in one Grand Designs television series attracted the most viewers, raced against the clock to finish building one of its homes at the three-day show.

Fellow German exhibitor Platz Haus (UK) reported good interest from self-builders and is currently following up a number of leads. Media coverage of the event generated about 200 hits on the company’s website.

Potton Ltd’s sales and marketing director Joe Martoccia said timber framed building had a strong presence.

Other exhibitiors included timber window and door manufacturers Fairoak Timber Products Ltd, Carey & Fox and Lamwood Ltd. Wooden flooring suppliers included Big Hardwoods, Rustic Wood Flooring Ltd, UK Wood Floors Ltd and Walking on Wood.

“Visitors were able to meet experts, gather ideas and purchase everthing from door handles to houses,” said Lee Newton, managing director of show organiser Media 10.

A further Grand Designs Live show will be held at Birmingham NEC in October.
