The Civitanova-based company has applied nanotechnology to surface UV coatings for parquet floors and water-based exterior coatings.

ICA says the addition of silica particles to resin used in formulating coatings improves the wear-and-tear resistance of coatings for parquet floors, while maintaining a transparent finish.

It also says UV nanofilters in exterior coatings have an increased capacity to distribute themselves uniformly inside the coating, improving resistance to the sun’s rays and impermeability to water vapour and water.

ICA’s wood coatings are used in a range of applications, including carpentry, shipyards, external structures, garden furniture, flooring and musical instruments.
