South Wales-based Seven Oaks, sister company of Hale Construction, is using the Striebig Compact 4164 to cut up to four OSB sheets at a time. The sheets are needed to give structural integrity, meet fire regulations and to seal cavities in timber frame panels.

The Compact is also used to size plywood and MDF sheets into smaller pieces for other joinery contracts, and even to trim 45mm-thick doors.

The Striebig replaced a sliding table saw which had required two men to load panels and hold them steady during cutting.

Seven Oaks said health and safety considerations were a major reason for sourcing the Striebig.

Striebig’s Compact features a maximum cutting size of 3100x1644mm and a cutting depth of 60mm.
