The UK Forest Products Association has marked the outstanding contribution made to the British timber industry by Gordon Waugh, who recently retired from Charles Ransford & Son Ltd.
UKFPA president Dr David Wood presented Mr Waugh with a hand-carved English oak bowl, produced by Robert Thompson’s Craftsmen Ltd of Kilburn, North Yorkshire.
Speaking at the presentation, Dr Wood said: “We pay tribute to Gordon’s outstanding contribution to the association, its predecessors and to the British-grown timber trade as a whole. Gordon’s perseverance and dogged determination, especially when dealing with officialdom, are legendary and he will be greatly missed by his many friends and colleagues in the industry”.
