The lumber mill in Arapoti, Parana state produces 83 million board feet of lumber annually, while the forestland includes 25,000ha of pine plantation and 5,000ha of eucalyptus plantation.

The sale, expected to be completed during the third quarter, is part of International Paper‘s decision to focus on uncoated papers and industrial and consumer packaging globally. Selling the Brazilian coated papers business will take the company’s divestitures to US$9.7bn.
