The builder used the system to roof two three-storey townhouses in Tettenhall, near Wolverhampton, and at another townhouse in Solihull.

Solihull-based Smartroof said Bellway was the biggest company to use the system so far.

“It’s all about modern methods of construction,” said Smartroof director Richard Evans. “The system is gaining a lot of interest from the market.”

The Smartroof product consists of insulated interlocking panels supported by structural gable panels. The design features cross-wall spanning which negates the need for purlins.
