TrustMark, which aims to help householders find reputable firms to carry out repair, maintenance and improvement work, is backed by government, consumer groups and the building industry.

“New scheme operators are being added month by month, so TrustMark will continue to grow to cover a much wider group of trades,” said Matthew Southgate who is managing the scheme for BM TRADA.

He said the growth is essential to ensure that TrustMark quickly gains recognition as an authoritative stamp of approval on local firms.

To display the TrustMark logo, a firm must be approved by a DTI-accredited trade association or other certification organisation, such as BM TRADA.
