The Oxfordshire-based company received the award from Gold Sponsor the Weinig Group. The company also won the Hardwood Trader of the Year, sponsored by the DLH UK.

More than 320 people attended the TTJ Awards which have become a fixture on the industry’s autumn calendar. Hosted this year by the former head of the CBI Sir Digby Jones, the event got off to a good start with a champagne reception sponsored by PTG Treatments.

This year’s awards were again made by sculptor Ray Winder from timber sourced by The American Hardwood Export Council.

First up for an accolade was Howarth (Timber Importers) Ltd which won the Softwood Trader of the Year award sponsored by Arch Timber Protection.

After Timbmet was presented with the hardwood trader prize, James Latham plc was on stage to receive the Panels Trader of the Year award from Medite.

International Plywood (Importers) Ltd was voted Plywood Trader of the Year, sponsored by W Howard Ltd while the Small Timber Business of the Year award, sponsored by Osmose, was won by Paterson Timber Ltd.

Combilift sponsored the Excellence in Marketing award which was won by Osmose and Abel Munoz from James Jones & Sons won the Career Development award, sponsored by SCA Timber Supply Ltd.

Potton Homes scooped the Best Technical Information Support Award sponsored by TRADA.

On the green front, the Tropical Forest Trust and Helveta Ltd won the Environmental Achievement award sponsored by UCM Timber.
