The number of companies offering hardwood at the Harrogate International Centre venue grew to 38 from 34 in 2005, while those offering laminate flooring grew by 5 to 38.

Exhibitors this year included British Hardwoods of Keighley, Nottingham-based BSL Hardwood Floors. International Decorative Surfaces and Germany’s Parador.

Initial visitor figures show an attendance of 4,392 (unaudited), compared to 4,389 in 2005.

CMP said the vibrant atmosphere at the event gave no indication of the tough period faced by the flooring industry in the past year.

Grundorf’s Pure Nature won the best solid/engineered wood floor at the Flooring Industry Awards during the show, while Parador scooped best laminate prize for its Trendtime.
