A £26,000 Cydcoed Woods for All grant has provided Cyfarthfa High School at Merthyr Tydfil with a new outdoor classroom.
The school is situated in the grounds of Cyfarthfa Castle and the woodland project will provide year seven and eight pupils with a green open space for learning.
The space will also be open to the 12,000 visitors to the site every year.
The work includes building a semi-circle of stoned benches in the centre of a woodland clearing, with new paths joining up to established ones to create a nature trail.
