The company’s chief executive officer Tan Aik Sim told Malaysia’s Star newspaper that production capacity at the Ipoh plant will increase to 25 million ft2 from the current 15 million ft2 next year.
He said the expanded capacity will enable the group to grow by targeting different market areas, such as architect and developer project work overseas. Much of its current export business is sold in the retail sector.
Ekowood is also talking to DIY chains about stocking its products.
