The EZK two man picking platform, also known as “The Barge”, has improved productivity and safety levels, as well as reduced the potential for product damage.

IDS used to pick worktops in bulk, take off what was needed, then put the rest back.

A restraint feature was specified on IDS’ EZK to ensure drivers were connected to the platform at all times. This design may feature on future Hubtex trucks.

EZK 20 trucks are designed to fit in existing aisles and are wire-guided, with laser scanners on each end.

Hubtex (UK) Ltd has reported interest in the EZK 20 from other companies in the worktop and sheet materials sector.

“The potential market for the Hubtex EZK is relatively small but as this truck has the ability to vastly improve the working practices of companies picking long product, it is a very important one,” said Hubtex (UK)’s Jim Hammond.

The Hubtex EZK costs in the region of £150,000.
