The Lockerbie mill processes raw timber from Forest Garden‘s 12 timber suppliers. Wood is then transported to the company’s various production facilities.
Some 750 tonnes of logs are handled and processed every day at Lockerbie, so materials handling is crucial to the productivity of the mill.
The 27-tonne 924B HD feeds the mill’s log deck and log grading facilities.
It features a turbo-charged Liebherr engine, which develops 127kW at 2,000rpm, and is equipped with a 6.5m-long monobloc boom, a 4m-long angled industrial stick and load holding valves. Lifiting capacity is a maximum 2.4 tonnes.
