The new purpose-built factory and offices comprise a total floor space of around 11,000ft2, and will also house a new SCM five-axis CNC machine, claimed to be first of its type installed in the south-east.

County Joinery makes a range of doors, windows, staircases, furniture and fittings that can be precision-made to match existing architecture or to modern designs.

The company says the new SCM machine – sourced by SCM UK through its Italian operation in Rimini – has “even revolutionised the production of ornately formed items”.

“It will enable us to meet tight deadlines on intricate work while maintaining the highest standards of craftmanship,” stated County Joinery.

Ideally suited for restoration and renovation work, often on listed buildings, the machine can accurately reproduce items, from a simple casement window to a staircase complete with elaborate balusters,

The machine was put through its paces during two recent open days at the new premises.
