Beard is adding Super E to its portfolio of construction solutions as part of its new Care Home Initiative, which will also see it securing land for new care homes where they are needed.

DAC International’s Super E partner in the UK, Crendon Timber Engineering, of Thame – already part of the Beard team – will deliver the structures on site.

Beard managing director Mark Beard said the company was teaming up with DAC International and Crendon to “develop modern and energy-efficient construction methods that meet the requirements of Part L for the care home market – indeed any new build project requiring highly energy efficient accommodation”.

Super E’s technical standards are based on Canada’s domestic R-2000 programme for energy efficient homes. Super E’s whole building approach integrates the principles of airtightness and increased insulation with a heat recovery and ventilation system.
