The dry cargo ship Tikhon Syomushkin has remained in port Haiphong while repairs have been carried out. The crew have now complained about the ship owner to the prosecutor’s office.

The sailors stopped receiving their salaries in summer 2006, having been forced to move from hotels back to the ship. Food and drink supplies were stopped in December.

In addition, the ship’s owner, the Kamchatka-based company Kamchatmorflot, remains indebted to the Vietnamese side for repairs. The regional fishermen’s trade union now plans to apply to the international sailors trade union for help.
