“The 100 signatures received so far by EDM 180 demonstrates that the role wood can play in a sustainable London Olympics is gaining widespread recognition,” said British Woodworking Federation chief executive and Wood for Gold steering committee member Richard Lambert.
“We look forward to seeing the positive support we have gained so far achieving solid results in the future,” he added.
Mr Lambert also said that the adoption of Central Point of Expertise on Timber guidelines by the Olympics Delivery Authority was “excellent news for the industry”.
The motion recognises the benefits of wood as a sustainable construction material and support’s Wood for Gold’s efforts to make the 2012 London Olympics a showcase for the wood industry.
