The Irish company, which now has a combined output of 8,500 units in the UK and Ireland, is to unveil new branding of its UK business at the Futurebuild show in London on February 27-March 1.
Its existing UK business and Pace will be called Kingspan OFF-SITE Ltd, while Potton and the Kingspan Century Irish operations will retain their names.
The takeover of Pace gives Kingspan a timber frame manufacturer with a strong client base in the affordable homes market, as well as the Optima Homes closed panel operation.
The acquisition of Potton gives Kingspan, said Potton sales and marketing director Joe Martoccia, a route into the self-build sector “which is very big business overall, but incredibly fragmented”.
Gilbert McCarthy, director of Kingspan OFF-SITE Ltd, said the acquisitions gave the company increased manufacturing output and technical skills.
“There is scope for consolidation,” he said. “We are focused on establishing oursleves as the market leader in offsite solutions in the the UK.”
He said Kingspan wanted to link its pre-fitted range of insulation products products and heat recovery/ventilation systems with the both companies’ homes, while the Kingspan TEK structural insulated panel system also oferred potential for Potton.
Kingpsan will launch a steel frame division in the summer in order to offer a full range of offsite solutions.
Pace managing director Phil Key said Kingspan’s resources would allow Pace to grow further. “We’re already finding that being associated with Kingspan is having significant impact in terms of sales.”
