The company, which makes timber windows, doors and conservatories, says it has been able to reduce wastage by up to 30%, as well as saving costs on skip hire to take waste material away.

The line consists of an MXB3515 automatic profiler, fitted with an in-feed conveyor table with a maximum capacity of 650mm wide x 150mm high. The selected timber is automatically driven into the machine, aligned to the correct position for machining, before being automatically cramped.

Table traverse is automatically controlled by a hydro-check unit that allows for a smooth and controlled movement past the scoring, hogging and finger-jointing cutter.

Once profiling has been carried out, pieces ready for jointing can be taken to the glue station then onto the MHZ 1560 automatic jointing press.
