Makita powers up Fuji Robin bid

Japanese power tool giant Makita has made a bid for Fuji Robin Industries to strengthen its position in the power gardening market.

Makita UK outdoor sales equipment manager Mark Earles said: “Fuji Robin has technical expertise that surpasses that of any other competitor.”

The two companies have collaborated on engine-powered products and Makita, which already has a 10% holding in Fuji Robin, said it was keen to encompass the company’s energy-saving mini four-stroke engines.
