Europe, Japan and North Africa saw demand for sawn timber increase during 2006 but, along with growth in the construction industry, this will slow down over the next three quarters, the report suggests.
However, Germany is likely to see an increase in the amount of sawn timber it produces, with an additional 1.5 million m3 expected to be produced in 2007, PTT has said.
