One of the first to convert to the product from solid sawn timber was the residential Beech Farm development by Wilfred Lloyd & Associates in rural Croft, near Warrington.
Project architect PAB Architects took the decision to specify 220 TJI joists rather than solid wood in consultation with the developer.
PAB’s Jim Hunter said engineered joists provided greater spans and more flexibility in the final design.
