Vacsol FR is the product of 12 months’ research and development and “addresses the needs of the market by improving the fire rating of framing components whilst ensuring that the timber is still protected against fungal and insect attack”, said Arch.

“The timber frame method of construction is becoming increasingly popular as its many benefits become more widely recognised,” said marketing manager Janet Brown.

“Arch believes its new product will add a new option for builders and specifiers that will help the continued growth of the market.”

Vacsol FR is to be launched on July 17 at the Globe Theatre in London, a venue which used 25,000ft3 of timber. Arch’s Dricon and Non-Com products were used to treat wood on the project.
