Dr Ralph Ridder has been appointed as the co-ordinator for the European Forest Institute’s (EFI’s) Support to EU FLEGT action plan.
Commencing full-time with EFI in mid-August, Dr Ridder is to play a central role in facilitating co-operation and communication between regional FLEGT processes and EFI’s task of overseeing voluntary partnership agreements.
“I sincerely believe that the EU’s FLEGT plan provides us with a unique chance to improve forestry standards in many countries and regions,” said Dr Ridder. “I trust to be able to facilitate a process that advances and unites FLEGT efforts.”
