Staff at Lawcris Panel Products have raised money to build a new footbridge and help with other structural repairs at a school for deaf children in Nigeria.

The fund-raising idea came from business development team member Mike McFarland, whose mother, the mayor of Warwick, does work with charities and causes in the UK and Africa. Misan McFarland attended Alderstown School in Warri, Nigeria as a child. Once a mainstream school, it is now a specialist school for children aged 4-12 with hearing and speech difficulties.

Lawcris staff made a donation in exchange for guessing Mr McFarland’s weight, with the nearest winning a bottle of champagne.
