Opened in mid-June, the centre at Ridgeons’ Saffron Walden site acts as a central point for the company to supply JELD-WEN stock to its own branch network and regional building contracts.
“It puts us in the ranks of major supplier,” said Bob Butler, Ridgeons’ product group manager responsible for building materials.
“It means that we can gear up to meet the needs of volume housebuilders by being able to provide immediate supply from stock as well as offering a plot lot service matched to customers’ schedulted build programmes.”
The centre holds more than 2,500 doors in stock, which include a range of styles and designs from the JELD-WEN catalogue including pine fire check doors, external plywood doors and ash foil wrapped doors.
