The British Woodworking Federation (BWF) is to stage a three-day timber training event at Myerscough College’s National School of Forestry in Lancashire.

Held as part of the BWF’s Timber Training Programme, the course will run from September 12-14 and will be split into three modules, including understanding softwoods and hardwoods, treatments and coatings and sustainability, which have been designed to give joiners, machinists, specifiers and buyers training on how to get the most out of wood.

“The many different species of wood all have their own characteristics,” said BWF chief executive Richard Lambert. “Our Timber Training Programme has been designed to help develop greater understanding of this beautiful and versatile material.”

Prices range from £80 for one module to £165 for all three modules for BWF members and £120-240 for non-members, with students receiving a £30 discount on the non-member price.
