A £250,000 investment in stair manufacturing equipment will help JELD-WEN take advantage of the growth in multi-occupancy apartments, JELD-WEN Stairs general manager John Seragusa has said.
JELD-WEN’s Melton Mowbray stair factory has taken delivery of equipment built especially for the firm, which will allow the company to produce shared staircases that “create a more welcoming ambience in communal areas”.
“We are really excited about what this means for our customers,” said Mr Seragusa.
“This is a major breakthrough that opens up huge opportunities for modern apartments and how they can be differentiated through the natural beauty of timber stairs.”
JELD-WEN has also invested in a 3D modelling system that allows customers to visualise stairs in situ, further “capturing developers’ imaginations about how they can make their apartments stand out from the rest”.
