Glenalmond Timber Co Ltd has taken delivery of five new trucks, complete with 45ft-long trailers, decorated in the company’s Ultrajoist themed livery.

The pink and blue trucks, which are designed to match the treated colour of Ultrajoist, the company’s solid timber construction joist product, will be serving all of the UK from Glenalmond Timber’s 24-hour distribution centre in Perth Quay and will be running on biodiesel, in line with the company’s policy for “lowest impact solutions”.

“Whilst the addition of five new trucks may seem a contradiction, it does allow us to ensure that they are well serviced, running efficiently and, with the use of biodiesel, not consuming valuable fossil fuels,” said managing director Fraser Steele.

The trucks will be able to carry up to 60m³ of Ultrajoist, around 20% more timber than conventionally treated product, allowing Glenalmond Timber to eliminate one in six of its deliveries, said Mr Steele.
