PVCu firms were frequent visitors to joinery manufacturer M Halliday & Sons Ltd’s stand, according to sales and marketing director Julie Ellis.
Halliday used its inaugural attendance at Interbuild to showcase its range of renolit foil coated, non-PVCu, engineered timber windows that it claims are “totally maintenance-free”.
And, said Ms Ellis, the number of PVCu window firms coming onto the stand during the show was noticeable.
“We’ve had lots of PVCu manufacturers coming up and asking about our products as they are having more requests for timber-based windows than before,” she said.
Ms Ellis said that the environmental credentials of its renolit foil-coated windows, including the use of laminated timber and reducing waste at the manufacturing stage, were big plus points for the range.
Earlier this year Halliday moved into new premises, which house the window manufacturing facility, and invested £250,000 on equipment and services, including a Hoffman jointing system and a glass shop to supplement its other business arms.
