Membership numbers at the British Woodworking Federation (BWF) rose by 58 companies during 2007, the organisation has reported.
More than 500 companies are now members of the BWF, with firms operating as manufacturers, distributors and installers of timber doors, windows and conservatories, staircases and all forms of architctural joinery, including shopfitting, timber frame building and engineered timber components, as well as suppliers to the industry.
Waller Yorkshire Ltd and Sanford Joinery Services Ltd are among the most recent companies to join. BWF said the two firms represent the increasing trend of young entrepreneurial companies joining the BWF to take advantage of member benefits and networking opportunities.
“There is a clear increase in young companies taking up membership,” said BWF membership director Michael Lee. “The industry is increasingly aware BWF members have a competitive edge over non-member companies.”
Richard Waller, director of Waller Yorkshire, said his company became a member to develop its business and to benefit from BWF support.
