Denholm Logistics has announced the acquisition of the remaining 50% of Shoreham-based Lacy & Middlemiss Shipbrokers Ltd.

Lacy & Middlemiss had been a joint venture with Denholm, which took over half of the company in 1999, offering chartering, shipping agency, liner and cargo handling and haulage services to the timber sector.

Tony Marsh and Sue Marsh are to remain as Lacy & Middlemiss’s directors, wth Mr Marsh noting that the company now has the “security of a highly respected shipping group” and “we are sure that this will ensure its full potential can be fulfilled”.

Michael Beveridge, managing director at Denholm, added that he was “delighted that they are both staying with the firm” and that he is “looking forward to continuing to work with Tony and Sue for many years to come”.

Denholm is also involved with Timbership Ltd, a joint venture with Latvian shipping agency Astramar that operates shipping services from eastern European and Russian ports to the UK and western Europe.
