High value-added timber products helped Bolivia record a 10% growth in exports during 2007.
The value of exports reached US$115m during the year, with high value-added products accounting for 62.5%, an increase from 55.5% in 2006.
This was off the back of an increase in export volumes from 39.3% in 2006 to 42.% in 2007.
Also in 2007, the UK overtook China as the second biggest importer of Bolivian exports, with the US remaining as the lead importer with 35.6% of the country’s exports.
