The A Proctor Group Ltd has reported several major installations for its range of timber cladding.

The Scottish company, a breather membrane and insulation specialist which branched out into timber cladding a year ago, has supplied Maibec factory-finished cladding boards for Chap Homes’ waterfront development between Aberdeen and Peterhead.

It sold 800m² of the Canadian-made product, which comes with an 18-year warranty on the finish, in a colour matched to Chap Homes’ specification for the townhouse and apartment project on the River Ythan.

Its other major project was supplying Royale cladding, treated by Osmose’s Royale process, as part of a £3.5m new build and refurbishment contract for the International School of Aberdeen by Morrison Construction.

Architects Halliday Fraser Munro required a wood cladding which would blend naturally into the heavily wooded site surroundings.

Duncan Kirkwood, Proctor’s exterior products business manager, said he was pleased with the response the cladding range had received from specifiers and contractors. He said architects could download full product specification from the Proctor website.

He said Proctor intends to add VaproBattten, a breathable vinyl batten system, as a direct replacement for pressure treated plywood or treated lumber battens. The company is currently testing the product.
