James Latham is to open a 40,000ft² distribution centre at the Eurocentral business park in Lanarkshire, its first in Scotland.
The site will supply a range of Lathams’ products, including MDF, melanine-faced chipboard, birch and spruce plywood, Finesse veneered MDF, doorblanks, flooring and decking products and will be able to “service existing, as well as new accounts, far more efficiently”.
“[Lathams] is a highly respected brand both here in Scotland as well as south of the border,” said David Landsburgh, site manager at the facility.
“The decision to open its first site outside England here in Lanarkshire reflects just how important this market is to us.”
The site is due to open in April, with daily deliveries and a collection facility meaning “orders will be processed far quicker”.
