A 12% increase was recorded in Norway’s felling rate during 2007, according to the Nordic Forest Owners Associations.

The growth, totalling 850,0000m³ more than 2006, was due to buoyant timber prices. Apart from 2005, felling has not matched last year’s rate since 1994/95.

The gross value of the timber sold to industry was €375m, a 32% rise on 2006.
