North Yorkshire Timber (NYT) has appointed two new directors, with more than 50 years’ experience in the industry between them, to develop its growing number of branches across the region.

The pair will support branch managers in increasing sales of flagship timber and builders merchants products, introducing new products such as natural stone paving, and expanding their customer base.

Rob Timmens will be responsible for the branches in the south of the region, covering seven branches from Ripon to Wingate, while Vic Bellas will look after the branches in the north of the region, including Sunderland, North Shields and South Shields.

Mr Timmens has worked in the timber industry for over 25 years. Progressing from assistant manager to branch manager with Jewsons, he became the manager of NYT’s Northallerton branch in 2005. His appointment as director – branch development follows his success in overseeing five branches as branch development manager.

Mr Bellas started his working life at Joseph Thompson Timber in Sunderland over 25 years ago. He was general manager when the company was taken over by NYT in 2000 and has recently been promoted to director – branch development following his success in managing rapid growth at the branch, doubling turnover in seven years.
