Montague L Meyer (MLM) has invested £80,000 in an enterprise content management (ECM) solution to automate existing manually-based processes.
MLM decided to buy the system, purchased from The Content Group, to replace its ageing document management and imaging system in order to gain control of its business information and reduce paper volumes.
“We needed our business process management system to be as efficient as possible to cope with the workload within our financial functions, to process purchase order authorisations and credit limitation applications,” said MLM’s information systems manager Joe Yuen.
The solution comprises iMarkup’s process automation and document management software integrated with Kofax Ascent for document capture and FormScape for document output management.
The move will substantially cut costs, improve information visibility and ensure better control of core business documents.
MLM has also automated acknowledgement of proof of deliveries, through use of Kodak scanners and Kofax Capio scanning software for each of the group’s 14 depots. This means MLM can store and distribute scanned signatures and bar codes centrally.
The company is now considering expanding the system into the finance, human resources and purchasing departments.
