Furniture and door manufacturer Dovetail Enterprises has installed a Masterwood Project 415 panel CNC machining centre to keep up with demand for its products.

The manufacturer said that the Project 415 is being used with Masterwood’s Mastercraft software and related computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacture technology to carry out shaping and boring of panels used in the production of bedroom furniture.

The Project 415 joins a Masterwood Winner CNC machining centre, which is being used to manufacture flush fire-rated doors.

Supply, installation and training was carried out by Andy Wells, Masterwood’s Scotland-based technical specialist.

“Both our Masterwood machines are extremely versatile, highly productive and are serving us well,” said Dovetail operations manager Bill Donaldson.

Dovetail has a history of employing disabled workers at its 100,000ft2 factory on Dunsinane Industrial Estate in Dundee in order to provide work, education and support. This includes visually impaired and otherwise disabled people and is supported by the Department of Work and Pensions via the Workstep programme, and Dundee, Angus, Perth & Kinross and Fife local authorities.
