Grange Fencing has continued its 140th anniversary celebrations by selecting 14 customers to receive a one-acre plot of land on the moon.

The company, which was founded in 1868, has already launched a new brochure featuring a moon-based cover photo and a superimposed round pergola and is to run a number of competitions throughout the year. The space theme has been chosen as Grange was launched around the same time science fiction writers HG Wells and Jules Verne were born.

The series of competitions kicked off with the first 14 companies to place an order within their minimum carriage requirement chosen to receive an acre on the moon.

WB Lennon Fencing, FW Myhill & Son, Ansell Garden Centre, Blackbrooks Garden Centre, Higgins Ltd, Wolseley UK, Northwich Buildbase, Bailey Buildbase, Yeovil Buildbase, Edwards Buildbase, Jewson Eastcote, Jewson Faversham, Jewson Denmead and Jewson Wroxham all now own their own plot on the Earth’s satellite.

Each acre is on the Earth-facing side of the moon so “each winner will be able to look up in admiration of their plot”, with each given its own unique reference number.
