M&M Timber Ltd is to implement recommendations from a 50-page Carbon Trust report in order to reduce its environmental impact at no cost to customers.
The Kidderminster-based company is to undertake recommendations covering lighting and heating economies, efficient use of machinery and compressed air, distribution services and vehicle fuel consumption at its 22-acre Clows Top site.
The changes will also involve compliance manager Richard Rix taking on the additional role of energy manager to oversee the implementation of the new initiatives.
“By following the recommendations laid down by the Carbon Trust, we will effectively reduce the company’s carbon footprint by as much as 10%,” he said.
