Stamco Building Supplies has invested £250,000 in a new site to give it a foothold in West Sussex.

Commercial manager Alan Boyd said the 1.5-acre facility in Shoreham, which opened on July 21, is well placed to give the company better access to the west of the county and offer customers “a good mix of timber and heavyside building materials”.

The site, which holds around £100,000 of timber, is situated on the A259 for easy access by road and close to Shoreham Port, where the company stores around £500,000-worth of timber for distribution.

Last year Stamco opened a new 29,000ft² outlet in St Leonards-on-Sea, and Mr Boyd said the company sees scope for further expansion in the coming years with a possible site nearer to Kent mooted.
