Forestry group Forest Enterprises Australia (FEA) has recorded a 29% increase in profits after tax for the year ended June 30.

Based on unaudited accounts, FEA said it expects net profits after tax to be A$48m, compared with A$37.3m in 2006/07.

FEA’s timber products division FEA Timber Pty Ltd processes more than 150,000 tonnes of hardwood and softwood logs into a range of sawn timber structural products each year.

FEA Plantations Ltd manages around 50,000ha of plantations in Tasmania, northern New South Wales and south-eastern Queensland.
